Micro Needling FAQs
Microneedling is the process of creating micro-injuries into the epidermis stimulating collagen production. At Premier, we use SkinPen which is the first microneedling device FDA approved in the U.S. to safely treat patients. Treatment areas include face, neck and décolletage as well as various areas of the body for stretch marks and scarring.
Each treatment is customized to the patient depending on the area treated and severity of problem. The complete process takes approx. 1hr from start to finish. Topical numbing cream is applied for 30 mins prior to treatment to ensure our patients are comfortable and experience little to no pain.
Any adult can benefit from microneedling! At the young age of 18, our collagen production decreases by 1% each year and our skin starts to age. More specifically microneedling treatments improve:
- Acne scarring
- Stretch Marks
- Texture Issues
- Sagging Skin
- Other Scarring Types
For the ultimate anti-aging treatment, PRP can be added to your microneedling procedure. This process involves drawing a small sample of blood and processing it to collect platelet rich plasma or “PRP”. The addition of PRP helps speed up the healing process, stimulates skin renewal, and provides better results than microneedling alone.
The number of treatments needed may vary and our licensed providers will help make a treatment plan to fit your needs. Depending on the area and skin problem being treated, 3-6 treatments can be expected. Best results are typically seen 1-3 months after treatment.
This procedure can be used on the face, neck, and chest as well as other parts of the body. We use medical grade skin care products during your procedure to enhance repair of damaged cells and improve collagen thickening. This treatment takes an hour or less in most cases and has no significant downtime.
