Pre-Treatment Jitters

We’ve talked about ways to prepare for your Botox, Dysport or filler injections before and stressed the importance of avoiding aspirin containing products and how to care for your face afterwards. However, I think it’s equally as important to talk about the steps you should take the day of your treatment. Get rid of your jitters with these helpful hints:

1. Get a good night’s rest before coming in. If you are fatigued, you could stress more than normal about your upcoming injection.

2. Eat a solid meal for breakfast. I’ve noticed that when patients haven’t eaten that day, they tend to get light-headed much easier than when they do.

3. Remember to BREATHE. Patients have a tendency to hold their breath when they anticipate pain or are very nervous. This can also lead to feeling dizzy. We will take care of you and make sure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.

4. In the event that you start to feel light-headed despite our steps above, tell us right away, don’t try to shake it off. We are more than happy to give you as much time as you need to feel comfortable. It’s not embarrassing, it happens more than you think. We want your experience to be enjoyable!
